Our Story


I’m Just A Creative is minority female-owned, bi-lingual social media agency based in Fort Lauderdale and Cancun that was founded out of our burning desire to shape the way hospitality and travel brands organically connect with their audiences online. We’re here because we believe that with a simple question, we can change the way our industry tells stories — how can we make it more real?

Having spent nearly two decades in the hospitality industry — from on-property operations to in-house corporate teams, from guest-facing customer service to running public relations and social media departments on the client side, from hiring external agencies to moving it all in-house — we walked away with a recurring theme...

There is a disconnect between the need to sell, the need to market, and the need to find a team that understands just how to navigate it all in hospitality and travel. So, we decided to try and change that.

I’m Just A Creative is essentially our love letter to this industry.

Meet Your Team

Co-Founder

Meet Thalia Chan — Content creator extraordinaire, visual master, and a true hospitality baby (no, really). She grew up in this industry and followed her parent’s footsteps into the hotel business. Having worked countless positions on-property, she eventually made her way over to the sunny world of social media as a creator and community manager. From there, Thalia transitioned to corporate where she built an award-winning social media team for some of the most renowned travel brands and lifestyle accounts.

Co-Founder

Meet Dana Baasiri — Storyteller, witty content marketer, and social media strategist . She got her start in hospitality fresh out of university as a publicist, and wore many hats throughout her career as she dipped her (left) hand in everything from new hotel launches to rebrands. She has helped shape narratives for some of the biggest travel and hospitality B2C and B2B brands out there through expert public relations and razor-sharp social media strategies.
